Is writing a daily list of tasks and reminders an integral part of your daily routine? You may keep a list of work tasks, family obligations and appointments, or even a list relating to your mental health and wellness.  And, if you're like most of us, you have more things to get done than time to do everything.  In today's blog, I wanted to share a simple yet proven idea that will lead to increased productivity -- give it a shot, let me know what you think and, if you like the idea, pass it along.

Here it is:  Do the hardest thing first!  Just dive in and get that out of the way while you're fresh and fired up.  Not only will you be able to tackle that task head on, as soon as that's done, the rest of your day will be a breeze -- you'll get other things done and feel like you're really making progress.

Procrastinators often start with the easy work, but that actually makes it even harder to do the tricky stuff later! If you start with the difficult stuff then you know that things are only going to get easier and you’re going to get a boost after every single activity!

Some people don't think it matters what order stuff gets done, but I  disagree.  First of all, since decision fatigue is a VERY real thing, doing the hardest thing first means that you'll be able to do that task with the best ability you have.

Mark Twain wisely said, “If you eat a frog first thing in the morning that will probably be the worst thing you do all day.”  Brian Tracy wrote an entire book based upon this quote called, Eat That Frog: 21 Great Ways to Stop Procrastinating and Get More Done in Less Time. One of his main premises is that if you start the day out by doing the things you like least first, you’ll get them out of the way so you can enjoy your day more and be more productive and fulfilled.  Plus, once you’ve accomplished your most dreaded tasks for the day, reward yourself with some of the tasks you enjoy doing. This will give you something to look forward to when you’re in the midst of doing your hard tasks and will probably give you motivation to accomplish them more quickly.  So, the message of today's blog is this:  Worst things First, then the rest of your day will be a piece of cake! Remember we can do hard things!! 🙌🏻 🙌🏻 🙌🏻
