When you are launching your business, there are many people who need your services. The best way to decide which clients you should focus on is by figuring out the clients who are most profitable for you.
Why do you need loyal profitable clients?
The most important thing that you need when starting any type of business but especially service based businesses is to attract loyal profitable customers. When you have a large number of loyal customers, it becomes much easier to make money in the future because they will keep purchasing from your company again and again if you wow and delight them with a great customer experience.
Every business will have clients that are more profitable than others. And this is normal. The challenge is to identify your most profitable clients, identify what they are looking for, and make sure you are offering services that are designed to not only meet their needs but go beyond their expectations. One of the ways to do this is by providing them with products and services that are tailored specifically for them.

This is very important because not all clients are the same and the way they want their services delivered will vary from one client to another.
A lot of times freelancers and other labor intensive creative service businesses will focus on whatever client comes first and most consistently, but if you do this it will be difficult for you to grow your business and scale it past yourself. Because with a diverse base of clients there will be more work to put in with less of a ROI (return on your Investment of time money and energy). When you get crystal clear on the type of clients you serve best and you specialize you have less competition as you become and expert in your area which means your prices can go up without diluting your value proposition to any of your clients.
